At Harper Interior Design, we believe that beauty and function are not a trade-off; they’re the same conversation. Our signature work is inspired by natural materials; timber, stone and beautiful finishes built for longevity. Colour is chosen with the same care, ensuring palettes hold through every season. The finished spaces are minimal by instinct, not by rule.
Harper is led by Rachel McLean — a designer with a background in fine arts, furniture and rug design, and formal qualifications across all aspects of interior design. More than a decade leading Harper has shaped a practice built on experience and an attention to detail. Working with a curated network of specialists, Rachel oversees every stage of a project, from initial concept to final completion.

DESIGN PROCESS
No matter the scale of the project, you'll always know where things stand. Our process runs across the following stages, with your input and approval at every step.
1 SCOPE OF WORK / BRIEF
We begin with a thorough consultation to understand your project requirements — whether a full new build or renovation, or a single space.
2 FEE ESTIMATE
A detailed, itemised estimate is prepared covering each area, process, and items to source. This document serves as your checklist and reference throughout the project.
3 CONCEPT & PLANNING
The design process works through layers — style direction, material samples, and layouts — each presented and approved before moving forward. No stage progresses without your sign-off.
4 HARD FITOUT
A complete set of design drawings is produced and final finishes and fittings confirmed, creating a precise brief for all trade specialists.
5 SOFT FITOUT
Furniture, fabrics, art, window treatments, and accessories are designed or sourced to complete the space — custom-made or drawn from our trusted supplier network.
6 DOCUMENTATION
A full schedule of finishes, fittings, and furniture is compiled alongside the design drawings for reference by you and the construction team.
7 PROCUREMENT
We place all orders and tender hard fitout works on your behalf, ensuring best pricing and removing that burden from you.
